Things I’m learning while chaperoning the band trip to Philly, The List:

THROWBACK IN HONOR OF THIS WEEK’S DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION IN PHILLY.

1. The city is eerily beautiful at sunset while you’re on a boat on the river.

2. Teenagers are beautiful, especially in dressy clothes, yet they don’t realize it.

3. Teenagers don’t really dance, they just kinda bounce in unison as a large group.

4. Teenagers do have manners.

5. I can’t remember what I had for dinner 2 days ago but I do remember so much of the dialogue in the Lion King.

6. Carrying around a backpack full of prescriptions and first aid supplies makes it difficult to maneuver in crowds.

7. Teenaged girls are baffled by vintage ads showing girdles and pointy bras.

8. Even if you warn them, hungry teens will still load up on bread and salad and leave no room for fettucine.
